Copywriting / One message. One next step.
Email & lifecycle sequences
Welcome, onboarding, nurture, launch and reactivation emails with clear subjects, useful messages and purposeful calls to action.
A closer look
Why does this person need this email now?
The sequence follows user progress instead of sending the same instructions to everyone. These are illustrative triggers and copy directions, not a configured automation or a measured campaign.
Illustrative example
A three-message onboarding outline
Welcome / after signup — Subject: Give your first project a home. Body direction: Introduce one setup task and link directly to it. CTA: Create a project.
Activation / if no task exists — Subject: Start with one thing you need to do. Body direction: Show a small, achievable first action. CTA: Add your first task.
Progress / after the first task — Subject: Make room for the rest of your week. Body direction: Introduce the weekly view when it becomes useful. CTA: Plan the week.
A demonstration of the approach, written for this page. Not a client project or a measured result.
How I approach the work
From the brief
to the right words.
- 01
Map the moment
Define the audience, trigger, current relationship and action each email should support.
- 02
Give each message a job
Write the subject, preheader and body as one promise. Avoid competing actions and explain why the next step is useful.
- 03
Review the whole sequence
Check timing assumptions, exclusions, links and consistency with the landing page. Hand off the copy with implementation notes.
The scope
What we can
build together.
A single deliverable, a connected campaign or ongoing support. The scope, timing and review rounds are agreed after the brief.
- Sequence map with trigger and audience notes
- Subject lines and preheaders
- Email body copy and CTAs
- Newsletter, launch or reactivation variants
Before we start
A useful brief
makes a difference.
Share your product, audience segments, current emails, available event triggers and the goal of the sequence.
Working in another market? I can translate and adapt the copy around local keywords, terminology and audience expectations. Tell me the language and country the work is intended for.
For editing, include the existing version and what you want to improve. For new writing, share any evidence or product details the copy must reflect.
